There's a great line in the movie, he says, that he got from Starlee Kine, a producer who has worked on This American Life. And I feel like they kind of accelerate your own experience of your time on Earth as a parent, too." "The kid you knew a month ago is always sort of disappearing. "If you're a parent, you're constantly grieving the end of these different versions of your kid," he says. Mills, who wrote and directed the film, says he was inspired by his relationship with his own child. They travel the country together as he works. Johnny learns a bit of what it's like to be a parent when asked to take care of his nine year old nephew Jesse. In Mills' new film C'mon C'mon, Joaquin Phoenix plays a radio journalist named Johnny. "Ira's had such an influence on me and my films and my writing. "I look at Ira Glass' life and that seems genius," he says, even sounding a bit like the radio legend. That's because he's a big public radio listener, especially of shows like This American Life, hosted by Ira Glass. "I knew what you were doing," Mills tells me. Long before I reached his house, I had my headphones on, my microphone ready, and my recorder rolling to capture our greeting and the barking sounds of his dog McGee.

The rappers say they want nothing to do with Milan because he's a joke, but we're told Milan's made it clear to producers the other rappers have made their feelings about gay rappers obvious.I went to Mike Mill's bungalow in L.A.'s Echo Park neighborhood to ask him about what I think is the most public radio movie ever. They won't show up to parties or other events where Milan is present. they don't want to film scenes with Milan. We're told at least 3 of the rappers on the show have made it clear to producers. Milan, who calls himself a rapper/model, has worked with big rappers, but mostly as a writer. They believe producers hired Milan as a "sideshow" and a "circus" to goose ratings. not because he's gay but because he has no cred in the rap game.
We're told a number of the rappers are upset with producers for hiring Milan. Rappers on the show include Ray J, Soulja Boy, Omarion and Mally Mall. Milan Christopher has been filming for 3 weeks, but we're told the majority of rappers on the show are shunning him.
The newest member of " Love and Hip Hop Hollywood" believes he's being shunned by cast members because they don't want to share the small screen with an openly gay rapper.
